If you want to reach us on IRC for a problem or just to hang out in our channel follow these instructions. You might want to come by sometime if you are looking for a scrimmage or pickup game many squads that are looking for some go there. For this quick tutorial we will be using mIrc as the chatting client.
Setup
Alright first off, if you have not done so already you need to get yourself a copy of mIrc. You can find it at http://www.mirc.com. After downloading mIRC and installing it, then you are ready to open up the program and get this tutorial on the way. First things first a main window will open, and then a few other
windows will 'pop-up' as you go. The first one to pop-up will look something like this:
Do not worry even though it asks you to register you can use the program for as long as you want without registering. Click on the continue button to go to the next step and close that window. After you close it you will be looking at the 'options'
Now, fill out your other fields with your own information, just as is displayed here. Its really simple:
Full Name: Your name, some people prefer to just put their nicknames here as to not give our their name.
Email address: Your email...
Nickname: What you wish to be called in the chatrooms.
Alternative: What you'd like to be called in case someone else is logged on the server with your normal nickname already.
Next thing you want to do is setup the server you want to connect to, click the add button then fill in the information as I have done to access the gamesurge network. Now click add and it should be in the drop down list. Make sure the server you wish to connect to is highlighted.
Click 'OK' when youre done, and you should now be looking at the main mIRC window and no more pop-ups! The hardest part is now over, and you're just about all set.
Time to Connect
Ok, now that you are ready to go, lets get you in the #twl_cs channel. Click the lightning bolt in the top left-hand corner of the main window. After a series of beeps and dizzying text scrolling, a new window will pop-up which looks like this:
Now, in that little field up at the top of this window (where you will see a blinking cursor) type in '#teamwarfare' without the quotes, just like I have done. Once you have typed this, then click the button to the right called 'add'. Now what that did was add a new channel in that list there called #teamwarfare. Now you can scroll down to it and double-click on it to join us! There is a bunch of other channels listed there by default some people just remove them from the list.
The end
Well that's it with this you should be good to go. There is alot more to mIrc though as well as some handy scripts you can enter in to automatically join #twl_cs when you connect, as well as options you can uncheck to prevent yourself from seeing all these windows when you startup mIRC and connect. A few basic commands you should familiarise yourself with if you wish are the following:

| /part #teamwarfare | This command is the part command, type /part #teamwarfare will make you leave #teamwarfare. You may replace #teamwarfare with any channel name to leave that channel, most people prefer to click the 'X' instead  |
| /quit | This command will make you disconnect from the server. |
| /msg TotalCarnage Hi | This will send the private message 'hi' to TotalCarnage, you may also open the private message window by double left clicking the nickname of the person you wish to talk privetly to. |
Those are the basic ones, if you ever need help just message me on irc and I will be glad to assit you. On a side note you might also like to visit the gamesurge website to read their Acceptable Use Policy while on their irc servers ( http://www.gamesurge.net/aup.php ).
