X-Ray Anti-Cheat Comes to TeamWarfare CoD4
X-Ray Anti-Cheat is coming to the NA Call of Duty 4 leagues and ladders. CoD4 NA ladders will require the X-Ray client to be running beginning on August 8, 2008. CoD4 NA leagues will require the client to be running at the beginning of the next season. For help on getting X-Ray up and running, you can refer to the guide HERE.
An FAQ for the anti-cheat utility can also be found HERE. If you have any further questions, TeamWarfare has also set up a separate forum dedicated to X-Ray HERE.
CoD4 admins are steadily updating the various league and ladder rule-sets. X-Ray will be required for all NA leagues and ladders. Players are encouraged to set X-Ray up as soon as possible.
Good luck and enjoy plenty of fair matches!

we've been using xray for another ladder. Its ok but lots of people have issues. It has many bugs that need to be fixed. Ladder has now went from mandatory to optional.

Post your issues here please:

That is what those forums are for. This has been extensively tested amongst several teams that beta tested for over 6 months in both ladder and league play and so far there are no glitches so if you found something new enlighten us but do it in the proper place please. A few of our members have been running it for about 2-3 weeks and we've had no problems so far. I'm happy that TWL is moving further into AC options!

I am very happy to see the new AC being put into place. I hope it follows with some stiff penalties when it catches the cheaters, they know who they are. It is of no use if there is no penalty behind it.

I tested it out last night during 2 matches and everything went well...no performance issues at all...SS all uploaded 100% ok...which brings up the questions, why are so many ppl afraid of this AC? Do ppl have stuff to hide? I am not trying to cause shit, but the AC WORKS 100%...lets USE IT...

Nice program and all but on my end it takes alot of memory. Maybe its just me? 45000 K memory usage. No other programs use that much memory besides the game itself.

so you can run cod4 correct? then your computer has more than enough juice to run a secondary program...it uses same amount of memory as my G15 lcd applications, xfire...etc...less than firefox even...
enough with the excuses...

We have an FAQ or anything for this thing? Is it server-side, client-only, what.. Mail I got saying to get it going by the 8th is the first I've heard about it. Does it replace PB? Do they work together, rofl.. Details would be nice, fellas.. (edit - Okay, I see now on the top post there are links about this, answers some of my q's, but not all).
Also - I'm curious what makes this any better/different than the current pb_ss system. Does it not grab the exact same types of images? Nothing I read on their site, nor here indicates any new technology in getting images. All it does is upload them to their server. Heck, our servers can be set to grab ss's and we can upload em, and avoid running another application, and avoid the adware, and avoid the $20k licensing fee to remove said adware... only thing i question is something I read that came for evenbalace about using xray.
A quick word about x-ray, this is from EB themselves ,
it is not advisable to run another anti cheat program alongside PB,
reading between the lines I would guess that a gamehack or gamehook violation could be raised by a PB update at any time in the future.
I had to laugh at the amount of players that whined about the new PB services being intrusive, yet the same players happily run a client side program on their machine with np
so as long as you can guantee that this won't happen then I will fully support it Commandant *R§F*Frõ§†í ™

This is the proliferation of the standard liberal approach to crime - more laws. The result is more crime and with more restrictions for the law abiding citizens.
The real answer is the proper punishment for the crime - if you cheat in a league then you get banned. If you are playing with people who cheat, then you forfeit the season. If you get caught in a second league cheating then you should get banned from all leagues (the leagues need to unite on this).
PB could help in this effort - one PB ID for each person to cover all of your games. Get busted once, then your multiplayer days are over for PB servers.
FYI: I hate hackers and I hate people who tolerate them.
